Monte Rosa Aosta Valley

Some says that SkyWay Monte Bianco is now the 8th wonder of the world. The new cableways that take you up to 3500m on Mont Blanc massif is indeed impressive.

It costed over 130ml euros to built new cableways that bring tourists to the top of Europe. It links Courmayeur in Italy with Pointe Helbronner, on the southern side of the Mont Blanc massif. It was opened last year after over 3 years of constructing.

Sometimes it is considered as the 8th wonder. For sure, it is the most expensive cable cars. The construction, designed by Carlo Rossi, was built instead for the old cableways. Now there are three stations starting at 1300m at Entreves.

The main attraction is a cabin that can contain 80 persons and rotates so visitors have a full view over the Aosta valley. In the half-way station, the Pavillon, there is a restaurant and… the botanical garden where almost 900 alpine plant species are collected.

At the top you can admire Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, and Gran Paradiso from scenic viewpoints. And through a tunnel and lift system one can also reach a Torino Hut, a refuge for climbers.
