Crowded slopes, we get lost in the woods

It could not be more perfect: sunshine every day and snowfall in the nighttime. Powder and more powder.

I remember the winters of my childhood when the snow was always falling at Christmas and the atmosphere was always perfect...or am I just idealizing things? I believe that this winter is anyway very special here in Monterosa. Not seen such a winter in many years!

But these days are also the days when the crowd pollutes the only street of Champoluc with an infinite line of cars, and when it is dangerous to ski "in pist" because of the risk of being hit by an adrenaline loaded beast on skis, not having control of the tools. So we get off...again!

A few hundreds meters from the main stroke there is a village of 4 houses called Resy. It is weel known for all trekkers for the fact that there lies one of the rest places of the MRT (Monte Rosa Tour). a beautiful trekk of 10 days around the massif of the Monte Rosa, from Italy to Switzerland and back: the Rifugio Ferraro. Fausta and her husband have recently renewed this special place, with pictures and objects from the many trekks that Fausta has accomplished in the Himalayas. The upper room is a library and meditation room for their guests, coming by snow shoes or randonnee skis in the winter time.

And the polenta and spezzatino (meat pot from the region) was the best he had ever eaten, says Bartolomeus, the connosoir of the family!

Then we have to get back to the slopes and the tour in the woods is not so easy with a snowboard...I wonder how many extra XP we had gotten in the World of the Snowcraft Game if the Game Master had known...
