The skiable domain will open this winter season with two new speedy chairlift and a network of new challenging pistes in the Mont-Valaisan area. South-west facing, Mont-Valaisan is an area that catches some really good snow.
The 15 million euro ski area expansion will both add advance-level slopes to the area and give the French side of the mountain a more snow sure top altitude. The skiing will be considerably extended with a new highest point at 2800 metres. The new lifts will also give easier access to a huge off-pist area with wide open spaces from where it is possible to freeride all the way down to the village.
La Rosière is part of the Savoi region, just like the big names Val d’Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs. In the less hyped and less crowded La Rosière there are less time queuing for lifts and more time on the slopes. The Espace San Bernardo has only about 14000 tourist beds shared between the two countries. To be compared to a total number of guest beds of 56000 between Tignes and Val d’Isere.
