The 19th stage of Giro D'Italia will finish in Cervinia

Giro d’Italia is coming to Cervinia on Friday. The 19th stage of the famous cycling’s Grand Tour race will finish there.

 

The 98th running of the Giro d’Italia started on the 9th May in San Lorenzo al Mare. The 236-km-long mountain stage from Gravellona Toce to Cervinia will be one of the last and very spectacular. It is the second longest stage during the Giro d’Italia. Participants will face Saint Barthelemy (1638 m) and Col de Saint Pantalèon (1664 m) to finally arrive to Breuil-Cervinia (2001 m) on the 29th May.

On Saturday and Sunday the cyclists will run two last stages: Saint Vincent-Sestriere and Turin-Milan.

Giro d’Italia 2015 is the fifteenth race of the 2015 UCI World Tour. Established in 1909 by the newspaper “La Gazzetta dello Sport” has been held annually. Nowadays, Giro d’Italia is an international race, one of the most important, that along with Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana makes prestigious Grand Tours. The route changes every year, but there are always mountain stages through the Alps, including the Dolomites.
