The car-free resort of Zermatt is situated in the south-west of Switzerland at an altitude of 1620 metres above sea level. This idyllic Valais village in the Matter Valley nestles amidst an impressive landscape of mountains and glaciers and enjoys a fantastic panorama of 38 four-thousand-metre peaks. Zermatt is one of Switzerland’s car-free resorts. The traffic in Zermatt consists of electrically-powered cars, buses and horse-drawn carriages instead of motor cars. The highest glacier palace in the Alps was created at the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn) at 3,810 metres above sea level. The palace contains various sculptures and information about glaciers, geology and climbing. It is the ideal venue in every season for special events such as aperitifs for groups of up to 250 people. With the combined ski-pass, tourists have full use of the international ski area which connects with Italy (Cervinia-Valtournenche). The Gornergrat-Monte Rosa railway GGB went into service more than 100 years ago as the first electric rack railway in Switzerland and takes visitors to the Gornergrat, a popular viewpoint surrounded by 29 four-thousand-metre peaks. Gourmet cuisine next to the pistes: Guests can enjoy excellent meals at cosy mountain restaurants in the ski and hiking area in both summer and winter. In our ski park with 2 magic carpets, a merry go round and a baby lift the children get their first skiing lessons as well as age appropriate activities outdoors or – if it should be to cold or your child is tired – indoors.The little ones gain confidence quickly and they will also have their first race on Friday. The most efficient way to reach this goal is to utilize terrain best suited to their ability. In this way they relate their first snow experience with having a lot of fun. Our qualified instructors guarantee an optimal learning experience in our play zone and give them an unforgettable holiday. In the event of bad weather, we have the possibility to use our local Snowflakes Kindergarden.t KINDERGARTEN What we offer is an entirely new dimension in winter holidays. While you are on the slopes, your children are also at the center of the ski area, Schwarzsee, being cared for by qualified child-care specialists. Our new Snowflakes Kindergarten gives parents more possibilities to arrange a more complete holiday. Most importantly, children experience the fun side of snow and mountains. It will be a holiday they will never forget.Our child-care center is 75 square meters and accommodates a maximum of 25 children.
