One of the better parts of the Gstaad ski area When you're skiing in Château d'Oex you have three different lift pass opportunities. All will give you very good skiing but the difference is the variety of slopes. Choose between 14 lifts in Château d'Oex, 60 in the Alpes Vaudoises region or 130 in the Gstaad Super Ski region with 450 kilometers of slopes.
For beginners the Château d'Oex's ski area is one of the better choices in the region. It has long, easy slopes that are perfect to practice in. Intermediates will find the area sufficient for a couple of days, but expert skiers will have to travel around the region for more variety.
In the village and in close range of Château d'Oex you can find nice hotels, apartments and camping sites. The hotels are mostly of two or three-star standard.
The closest international airport is in Geneva, 150 kilometers away. Transfer between Geneva and Gstaad takes about 2.5 hours and Gstaad has it own railway station. From Gstaad you can use the local bus system to reach Château d'Oex.
