Not far from Sion, lies Anzere, a lovely little Swiss village. The resort is a panoramic balcony facing south over the Rh'one Valley and gets a abundance of snow. Anzere has its own lift system in close connection to the village itself. A great lift system and short distance to other larger resorts makes Anzere a great ski resort.

The Valais resort of Anzère found a perfect balance between traditional atmosphere and outsatanding alpine skiing. Its all-pedestrian centre is surrounded by wooden chalets, and "vin chaud" is served in the village square every Monday, as the night-skiers descend by torchlight.
For the children, there is endless choice, from ski school and skating rink to game rooms, billiards and a 3km sledge run. Santa turns up on Christmas with a bag of presents, and even the Eaastern Bunny makes a stop in Anzère.
To take to the air, sightseeing flights over the peaks and heli-skiing at the top of the Wildhorn are unforgettable experiences, or try the paragliding school which will teach you all you need to know, even in Winter.. But if you want to get away from it all while keeping your feet on the ground , there are 35km of groomed winter walking paths, along the "bisses" (water canals), through the forest and taking in spectacular views of the Alps. They can be explored on foot or with snowshoes, and can include the essential fondue in a mountain chalet.

Apres-skiers are spoiled of choise, with a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, terraces and boutiques to while away the hours. The ski area is in close range of the village and it's very easy to get to the slopes. The slopes are mainly red with a few black and green. A very long, black run will take you from 2362 meters down to Anzere and should thrill even the best of skiers. Snowboarders can enjoy themselves either in the main slopes or in the snow park and the half pipe. Little kids will have fun in the snow garden on the Village Place.
