Developed since 1961 and located in the centre of the Sälen mountains in mid-western Sweden, the area is made up of four smaller resorts, Lindvallen-Högfjället and Tandådalen-Hundfjället. The two ski areas of Sälen featured, Lindvallen-Högfjället and Tandådalen-Hundfjället, are adjacent. The lift pass includes the short bus ride between the ski-lift complexes which together serve over 100 pistes.Sälen´s snow condition is always perfect, beautiful powder snow with well prepared runs. If the snow won't fall well, Sälen has more snow cannons than in any other European ski resort. (Sälen is specially good for beginners. There are special lifts and 36 nursery and easy slopes. Intermediate skiing is plentiful with wide runs through well forested hills. For more advanced skiers there are at least 20 testing black runs and several off splendid off-pistes areas.)
Sälen is famous for it's friendliness and facilities for families. Children between 13-15 years old can join the Lindvallens Ski club. Here they have the possibility to make their skiing technique better while having an extremely good time. On Thursday nights there's the Ski Club party, a party full of many activities such as scoter safaris, barbecue, snowracing competitions plus several of other amenities.

For advanced- For advanced skiers there are 20 testing black runs and several good off-piste areas, including " The Wall" area in Hundfjället, where many world-class speed skiers have trained. This is steep!
Ski school Why should you join a ski school when you are visiting Sälen. Well, the answer is simple, you can get train you technique with professional instructors and get better and better. A better skier is an safe skier. Another reason is that you ought to try new things, such as off-piste skiing, snowboard or why not telemark. Sälen offers many special courses with skilled and professional instructors.
There are primarily provides a large amount of quality self-catering accommodation in fancy chalets, family cottages and apartments. Almost all have cable TV and phone. The accommodation is situated nearby the lifts and runs.
By Air: From Stockholm ( Arlanda- airport) flight to Mora, then taxi transfer directly to Sälen. By Train: Stockholm- Mora, approx 3 hr. Malmö-Mora, approx 5-6 hr. New from this year is that you can take the night train from Malmö to Mora. And then from Mora bustransfer. The train lives Malmö by 18.00 and then you will be in Sälen just in time for lunch.
