There are 11 lifts with an uplift capacity of 8500 skiers per hour and 12 ski runs. The accommodation is good and you will have plenty to choose from when it comes to your living in the Lecht. It should also be relatively easy to reach the lifts from wherever you will happen to stay in the Lecht area

Lecht is probably the friendliest ski area for children in Scotland. The smooth slopes are perfect for families with young kids. This is the ideal ski resort to learn how to ski and the ski school and snowboard school gives private instructions and class lessons.

Indoor
Tomintoul, the highest located village in the Highlands at 1160ft / 354m, is the closest location to the famous Malt Whisky Trail. In Speyside you can find attractions from the clan museum to the Highlands Wildlife Park or you can do some interesting shopping in Ballater.

Outdoor
The outdoor center in Boultenstone, which is located 15 kilometers from Lecht, offers mountain bikes, a climbing wall, paragliding, orienteering and much more. Lecht has a snowboard and a ski school, in private and class lessons. There are many outdoor activities in Lecht and the surrounding area like angling, golf and ponytrekking.

There is one licensed restaurant that serves hot and cold snacks and drinks. The nightlife mostly centres on pubs and hotels in the village

The Lecht area offers one of Scotlands best ski areas for families and intermediate skiers, but there are also runs for the more advanced skiers. The Lecht is situated high in the north- eastern sector of Cairngorm massif. You'll get an excellent place to ski in, with plenty of smooth slopes around the central nursery area. There are also a few testing tougher runs that mark the western limit of the ski resort.

Lecht has a good snowboarding terrain and the off-piste opportunities are more than adequate. There are 11 lifts, with an uplift capacity of 8500 skiers per hour, and 12 ski runs. The maximum vertical descent is 700ft. The ski centre has 200 m summer ski slope with floodlights for every session. The ski school is very effective and really worth trying for the beginner.

There are also opportunities for some high level cross- country skiing in Lecht in the great surroundings.

The pretty village of Tomintoul, by the way the highest village in the Highlands, will provide you with some really nice hotels, cosy guesthouses, self-catering and farmhouse accommodation. It's easy to find a good choice of accommodation near the ski area. Yet another choice of accommodation is in the village Strathdon, in a beautiful setting and with some castles rich of history to visit.
