Beginners and intermediates should not hesitate to come though, there are plenty of red and green runs for you.
There is a children's area called Trolland, specially made for the kids to play and enjoy themselves. If your child is under 9 years old, he or she will ski for free if wearing a helmet.

Oppdal is a place full of entertainment. If you like to go out, dance and meet people you've come to the right place! There are several nice restaurants with good food. For late night entertainment, visit one of the 15 after ski bars, pubs or nightclubs. Some places often have live music.
Best off piste in Norway
You will find great downhill skiing in Oppdal! There are 55 km of groomed slopes and almost infinite off piste. The ski area is divided in 5 parts, all linked together by a net of slopes. There are some steep runs in Hovden and to get access to off piste skiing, bring your guide to Vangslia. Beginners and intermediates should try Stolen, Ådalen or Vangslia. Snowboarders can practice their tricks in the halfpipe.
Cross-country skiers will find up to 150 km (depending on high/low season) of marked trails in the magnificent mountain landscape. There is a 4-km trail with lights for night skiing.
Oppdal is one of Norway's best ski resorts and is definitely worth a visit!
There is a train station in Oppdal and the nearest international airport is in Trondheim. By car: Take the E6 from Oslo, via Lillehammer. The drive by car is 420 km long.
