Thanks to the high altitude Gaustablikk is one of the first ski resorts in Europe to open for the winter. This brings many enthusiastic skiers in the beginning of the season and the Norwegian ski team start their training on snow here.

The peak of Gausta is 1883 m and one of the best viewpoints in Norway, where you are able to see as much as one sixth of Norway's area.
The ski area contains 4 ski lifts including one children's lift that is for free. There are 8 runs of every level of difficulty, all in all about 10 km of pistes.
There's a play area next to the ski center where you can leave your children under supervision for two hours a day. Children under 9 years old will ski for free and have a ski lift to themselves.
The hotel has a playroom for kids and also a swimming pool, billiards and table tennis.
Very close to the slopes you'll find a cafeteria, a bar with after ski and a discotheque. All you have to do is to take your skis off and start partying!
There's often dancing to live music at the hotel.
With a speed-skiing slope where worldcup competitions are held and the highest peak in the Telemark area, Gaustablikk is a good ski resort with beautiful landscape. There are 4 ski lifts and 9 slopes and the possibility to go off-piste skiing with guides. There are 3 floodlit pistes and one mogulfield. All in all a great challenge for all members in the family!
For cross-country skiers there are tracked trails up to 23 km long.

The ski school teaches downhill, cross-country and telemark skiing.
You can stay in best comfort at the Gaustablikk Höyfjellshotel and Apartment. It is very close to the slopes and you'll have access to every facility you could think of. There are 97 rooms and 24 apartments to choose from!
