Take your children to the kid's area where they can join the Troll club and learn skiing in a playful way. The children's slope and the beginners slope are lit at night.
Rafting on snow
If you've tried rafting on wild rivers and liked it, try snowrafting for a somewhat similar experience. Snow is just as uncontrollable as water!
More peaceful activities are to go on a guided sled trip with a dog team or visit the Sami tents in the evening with torches. New for last winter was to stay overnight in one of the tents.
Mother Aase's kitchen serves great food for reasonable prices and if you want to go dancing go to Anitras!
Set in the Olympic Valley, only one hour from Lillehammer, Gålå is full of possibilities. The ski area is fairly big with 15 on piste slopes. There is only one black run but all the more reds and greens, perfect for intermediate and beginning skiers. Snowboarders can try the 200-m long half pipe and several pistes are excellent for telemark skiing. Cross-country skiers have more than 200 km of trails prepared for them.
Skischool
Experienced ski instructors will teach you how to ski, snowboard, telemark or cross-country ski.
There are several chalets and cabins to rent, all with kitchen and bathrooms. There is also the Gålå Hogfjellshotel with 84 beds. They are enrolled in an environmental program, which works to protect and preserve the nature, culture and traditions in Gålå.
