With dry and natural snow and a reliable season Cardrona is the home of the Alpine snowboard race team of New Zealand. There are two international half-pipes and a big terrain park. The mixed mountainside offers something for both skiers and snowboarders.

The ski area is divided into three basins, all with different characteristics. On the whole, the skiing available suits all levels of proficiency. The wide-open slopes in the Captain's basin for cruising suits everyone, the steeper sections are to be found in Arcadia. This is where the Extreme skiing competition takes place. For powder, do the Powder Keg or the Last Shot Bowl

For the beginners there's a splendid area, right beside the base buildings.

It is unusual in New Zealand to be able to stay overnight in a mountain resort. In Cardrona you can! There are some nice and comfortable apartments you can rent. Staying here will save time for you, no driving and getting up in the crack of dawn to be early in the pistes.

Other possibilities are to stay in Wanaka or Queenstown.

Cardrona is situated on the South Island of New Zealand, not far from Wanaka. The drive up to the resort is about 45 km and takes 35 minutes.

Coming from Queenstown, take highway 89, northbound. The distance is 57 km and takes 65 minutes. The closest international airport is in Queenstown.
