In a sheltered sunny valley in the Brenta Dolomites, the ski area of Madonna di Campiglio extends to include the neighbouring resort of Folgarida and Marilleva for a total amount of 120 kilometres of ski slopes and 30 kilometres of cross-country tracks, skiable snow in any weather, uncommonly fast lifts that carry you through the splendid natural scenery of the Dolomites. MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO:
Beginners: The nursery slopes are situated at Campo Carlo Magno where there are three drag-lifts which are not included on the lift pass and gentle, wide open space- ideal for first timers.
Intermediates: This area is a paradise for intermediate skiers. There is one cable car and two gondolas which depart from the centre of the resort, one gondola departing from Campo Carlo Magno. The runs link up well at higher levels and several return right down into the village. Spend a day exploring the many interesting runs.
Advanced: The famous 3 Tre from Pancugolo is a challenge even for the most accomplished skiers. The Canal Miramonti is another testing black from Monte Spinale and there are further four black runs. There are several off-piste possibilities.
Snowboarding: At the top of Groste there is the new "Ursus snowpark" with halpipe, quarterpipe and 3 areas: advanced, intermediate and beginners.There are no restrictions on any other runs. Campiglio has a dedicated snowboard school with two English speaking instructors who even guide enthusiasts off pist. All the other ski schools have snowboard teachers as well.
Ski schoolThere are several of ski schools in Madonna. Classes tend to be multi-standard and multi-lingual. There are about 150 ski instructors.
There are several of good hotels, you can choose from excellent 2-star hotels to more exclusive 4-star hotels. There are also several of nice self catering apartments.
