La Thuile with breathtaking views and excellent snow record.
A mountain chain of incomparable beauty. A historic mountain pass connecting Italy with neighboring France. A vast valley surrounded by pine and fir trees. Precious artifacts dating back to the beginning of the Roman Empire. Two majestic mountains baring the legendary names of Rutor and Mont Blanc. And lots and lots of snow. Pure whiteness all for you. These are the natural elements that together form the backdrop to La Thuile in winter. A unique experience where mountains are absolute, yet crisscrossed by stories, tales, and narrations of our lives.

La Thuile has 19 fast and advanced lifts that prevent people from long waiting; particulary, two of them, the gondola DMC and the four-seater chair lift Bosco Express, ensure a capacity of 5400 p/h. The same number of lifts is installed in La Rosière and since 2004/2005 two completely new chair lifts, Roches Noires and Eucherts, are running with a capacity of 4800 p/h, ensuring a fast access to the Espace San Bernardo, from France towards Italy. Once you reach the top of the mountain, you can go from a side to another of the area in few minutes… and if it’s a little bit cold, don’t worry… some comfortable chair lifts with special protections will raise your spirit, so that you can enjoy the view of the Mont Blanc chain. If you like a deep contact with nature in front of the Rutor glacier… just reach the side of Arnouvaz, where a comfortable chair lift with Magic carpet will get you to the top, and then you can go back to the center of the Espace by using the chair lift Argillien Express… you can then continue up to the Mont Belvedere, 2641 m, that is the highest peak of the resort, and ski down to France or you can reach Chaz Dura, where a 360° panorama over the highest European peaks is waiting for you… The potential of the Espace San Bernardo, thanks to its 38 lifts and its capacity of 58.000 p/h, ensures a role of great importance among the stars of the European ski resorts.

Once upon a time there was a hamlet. All around there were pastures, fields of barley and oats, veins of coal in the hills. And there was a daily life, regulated by the rhythms of grazing, by the harvesting seasons, or even by the rites of mining. Without forgetting its origins, today there is a complete variety of outdoor winter sports and activities that makes La Thuile one of the most famous ski resorts of the Aosta Valley. Much has changed, but the spirit of the place remains the same: welcoming, warm, and just the right size. 15 Hotels, 350 apartments, 1 youth hostel, 1 campground, 1 camper area
Bordering on both France and Switzerland, the Aosta Valley is situated in the northwestern Italian Alps. La Thuile is located in the most northwestern part of the Aosta Valley and sits on the frontier with France. From June to October, La Thuile is connected to the French region of Savoie by way of state road number 26 and the Piccolo San Bernardo Pass. The rest of the year, the pass becomes a ski run and is closed to car traffic. By car, La Thuile is less than an hour from Chamonix (France) and two hours from Geneva (Switzerland) by way of the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Because of the optimal highway system throughout the Aosta Valley, it is just one hour from Turin, two from Milan, and three from Genoa.
