The skiing is among the best in Germany, varied and you will always find unskied snowfields. But that's not all, this is the place where the fourth Winter Olympics was held in 1936 and the World Championships in Alpine Ski were also held here in 1978. In other words, you will be guaranteed world class skiing and great hospitality while visiting Garmisch.

Thrilling Experience!
There are 2 ski areas in Garmisch-Partenkirchen; Garmisch-Classic with Hausberg, Kreuzeck (downhill race track "Kandahar") and Alpspitze, the Zugspitze (the highest ski area in Germany). All of them are well linked and well maintained. With its 60 km of beautiful ski slopes, you'll find the skiing to be very entertaining. There is also a possibility to try the Innsbruck and Mittenwald resorts if you get tired of skiing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Those two resorts are just an hour (Innsbruck) or 30 minutes (Mittenwald) away by car.
