Samoëns is a part of the gigantic ski area of Le Grand Massif that will offer you about 260 kilometers of groomed runs and some 78 lifts. The village itself is located a few minutes drive from the lifts but maybe it's worth having a little longer to the slopes to get away from the crowds of tourists.
Samoëns is full of history and you will find several unbelievably beautiful old buildings in the village. This could be as much of a cultural experience than just a pure skiing adventure.
Samoëns has a nursery for children six months and older and a special ski school for kids four years and older.
Cultural adventures
While staying in Samoëns it would almost be a crime not to visit the great historic buildings offered. A special recommendation to the Chateau de la Tour, which is located close to the town hall. The Musée de la Pierre, a museum that focus on masonry, is also something to see for the history enthusiast.
