Le Corbier is a winter and summer-sport resort located in the Alps, in the heart of the Maurienne Valley. Rounded by a breathtaking environment, come and enjoy the beauty of the great landscapes. Le Corbier is a paradise for mountain sports and open air activities but also for nature lovers. A no-car resort : leave your vehicle on the free car-park and get walking or skiing to residences, shops and services. Each building of the resort is very close to a ski-lift. Just put on your skis and get to the top of the slopes ! Children : Le Corbier guarantees good infrastructures for your children : nursery, snowkindergarten, special rates for children… Outstanding ski, thanks to the skiing area of Les Sybelles, that connect, by ski, le Corbier with 6 other resorts. It is more than 230 km of ski slopes and one of the five biggest skiing area in France. It offers exceptional skiing conditions from beginners to experienced skiers.
If you want to ski the fantastic mountains without worrying about your children you should leave them in the kindergarten. They can take care of children between the ages of 6 months and up to six years old. The crew is specialized ESF personnel and will both entertain your children and teach them how to ski.
The best activities can be found in Le Corbier. Choose between skating, paragliding, hang-gliding and interesting mountain excursions. For indoor activities Le Corbier offers tennis, health center and a cinema.
Among the mountains you will find several small ski huts and mountain restaurants. There you can get a tasty meal or something good to drink. At night you can enjoy an unforgettable torchlight display, a variety show, a quiz competition, different games and sports competitions. You can then continue your evening in a bar or disco.
More skiing for more skiers Le Corbier's ski area proposes 3 ski passes : le Corbier / St Jean d'Arves 75 km of ski runs Le Grand Large (connected with La Toussuire) 125 km of ski runs Les Sybelles : the brand new connected skiing area that offers more than 230 km of ski runs. This is one of the five biggest domain in France! Le Corbier's ski area also has many good off-piste opportunities and some challenging black runs. The conclusion is that Le Corbier's ski area is suited for all types of skiers, including snowboarders who also can enjoy themselves in the new snow park. And don't worry about the snow, below 1800 meters (above sea level) 45 snow-cannons make sure the snow stays in good shape, and above that level nature takes care of the problem.
The ski school has 40 instructors who can teach both downhill and cross-country skiing. They can also give lessons of snowboarding and telemark. The instructors can speak French, German and English and can give both private and group lessons.
Stay in an atmospheric hotel or an apartment, most with terrific standards and nice views over the mountain. The Camping site is closed during winter.
By car: From Paris you should take the A43 highway towards Chambery/Modane and exit at St Jean de Maurienne. After that it's just to follow the sign "Vallée de l'Arvan". By rail: TGV from Paris to St Jean de Maurienne, then use the local bus service. By air: Closest airports are found in Chambery, Lyon, Grenoble and Geneva.
