La Rosière is a beautiful traditionally built village on the border to Italy. Its ski-area is linked with the Italian ski system of La Thuile, and it's perfect for beginners and intermediates. 135 km of slopes in this protected forest resort will ensure you good skiing as well as relaxation. Lots of white powdery snow until the beginning of May is guaranteed, and snowboarders will find great off-piste slopes.
This is not a wild party resort but it's perfect for those who wish to spend a calm and quiet holiday in the Alps.
Ideal for kids
The nursery is open for all children of the age of one to ten years. Activities are arranged for non-skiers such as discovering the forest and sled riding, but there is also the children's ski lift and instructors for the young skiers! The French Ski School gives lessons at moderate prices.
Several possibilities to try
Little excitement for non-skiers
No wild nightclubs are present but you can go to the cinema or take a stroll in the lovely landscape. Enjoy the peace and the closeness to the nature. There is also a good choice of restaurants for such a small resort.
Great for beginners and snowboarders!
With a huge combined ski-area, La Rosière and La Thuile offers 135 km of well-groomed slopes, perfect for beginners and intermediates. The quality of the snow is exceptionally good and there is lots of inviting off-piste tracks. La Rosière has a reputation for not having long queues for the ski lift. The area next to the village is ideal for families with its easy slopes. At higher level you'll find the more advanced red slopes and even some black ones. The ski-area actually covers the border between France and Italy, so you are really skiing in an international environment! You can also try the 12 km of cross-country trails.
The French Ski School (ESF) offers lessons for all levels in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and monoskiing. 55 instructors speaking French, English, German and Danish.
The lowest prices of the area!
La Rosière is really very cheap but there's not much to choose from. Either you stay in some of the 2-star hotels right next to the slopes or you can pick one of the many different chalets, with good bus connections to the ski-area.
