Even though the resort only includes six lifts and eight slopes you will be satisfied because the slopes are long and the vertical drop is rather steep. The average slope length is 5 kilometers and the vertical drop is more than 1300 meters. Sillian is also a great place to visit if you want to explore the rest of the Tirolean mountains and it has many nice hotels and other types of accommodation.
Get fit or get relaxed in Sillian For the cross- country skier there are lots of well-prepared cross-country trails in Sillian. There is also an ice-skating rink, an indoor pool with sauna and solarium. You can also use a couple of curling lanes go shooting in a shooting range and ride a toboggan run.
Long, fast runs The strength of the Sillian's ski area is the length of the slopes: 40 kilometers for eight slopes makes five kilometers on an average. And if you're bothered by the lack of quantity you still can enjoy Sillian as a starting point from where you discover the rest of Tirol. Expert skiers might find the resort's slopes a little bit easy, but intermediate skiers should love the place! Beginners have an excellent possibility to train their skills in the ski school, and when they're ready you should go for the longer red runs.
Sillian can offer you both larger four-star hotels and smaller and cheaper ones. The bigger hotels usually include restaurants and almost everything for your convenience. The smaller ones might not have all you desire, but they are pretty nice anyhow.
By car: If you're coming from Vienna you should take the A1 or Southern motorway to Tauernau Sillian. From Germany or the Netherlands go via Munich, Kufstein, Kitzbühel, "Felbertauernstrasse" and Lienz to Sillian. From Italy go via Bozen, Brixen, Pustertal valley or via Cortina d'Ampezzo, Toblach and Innichen to Sillian.
By air: The Inssbruck airport is the closest international airport available.
