In Imst the SOS children's villages were founded and it is the perfect place for you to take your whole family for a holiday. The town has a pretty small ski area, but it is surely sufficient for families and people who like relaxing. The ski area consists of four lifts and 9 kilometres of slopes, apart from the almost unlimited off-pist skiing. That makes the area also suitable for snowboarders. Several other activities are supplied, such as a rodel-sleigh ride and indoor fitness centres. Imst is easy reached by car, the motorway passes just outside the town. Several events such as free ski school for children and the traditional Schemenlaufen contributes in making this a very attractive resort for an alpine vacation. 42 fountains placed all over the village, ancient churches and a breathtaking waterfall are some of the attractions of the town. And one should not forget the gastronomic experiences given by the local restaurants, the kitchen is Tirolean and of course very tasty.
The tourist board welcomes all children between 4 and 7 years old to take part in the free of charge ski school between 09/12 and 20/12-02 and between 20/1 and 31/1-03. The tourist office will also supply these children with free ski passes.
