It s an area with a great sense of scale. You can have a full day out skiing to other valleys, be in the high mountains or ski past a valley level farm. There are plenty of tree-lines runs, open bowls and accessible off-piste, such as beyond the Hohe Scharte.
Above all the skiing is very varied.
The face back to town has routes as steep and bumpy as you could want yet there is an easy green cruise back to the bottom.
Go the other way off the Stubnerkobel on wide snow sure cruising. It is also easy for a group of diverse ability to choose various runs and then all meet up. The area benefits from the " snow hole" climate. Simply this means that snow comes from both the North-West and East, two bites at the snow cherry. The valley height is good for Austria and the area does have a snow record better than a number of nearby big names.
The lift system in Badgastein and Bad Hof are completely interlinked, giving the opportunity to ski from valley to valley. The lifts and runs often work so that various parties from a group can go at their own pace and yet easily meet up for a drink or at lunchtime.

Fly to Munich and take a train Munich-Salzburg-Badgastein. In Munich it's also easy to rent a car and then you have a 2.5 hours drive. Closest airport is Salzburg and from there you have a 1.20 hours transfer with train.
