110 miles pistes covered with snow wind around the Massif of Mount Rose up to the three valleys of Monterosa Ski. You can choose to cross the whole area with your skis at your feet starting from Champoluc and Frachey in the Valley of Ayas, from Gressonye-La-Trinité in the Valley of Gressoney, from Alagna in Valsesia; but you can also decide to live a more intimate and secluded dimention of Monterosa Ski: Antagnod, Brusson, and Gressoney-Saint-Jean are local stations that can be reached by comfortable shuttle services.
A wide area linked by advanced ski lifts, to provide skiers and snow-boarders with most various pistes; wide and sunny runs, or steep slopes across the woods. Growing technical difficulties, to face on the basis of experience. An advanced programmed system for covering the area with snow enables to maintain an optimal snow layer even in periods of scarce snowfalls. Mountain huts at high altitude, typical dishes and large and sunny balconies offer the opportunity if enjoying an enviable winter tan while tasting excellent gourmet specialities.
Monterosa Ski is kid-friendly mountins. Kids have three Baby Snow Parks available to spend unforgettable days on the snow, running a short piste stretch on the conveyor belt, then going out and playing in the park with the snow-men and making other outdoor games. The conveyor belt movement enables children and beginners to take themselves to a slightly higher altitude in absolute safety for approaching skiing at ease. The young guests of the area can also have particular discounts and many free items.
Literary aperatifs and meetings with contemporary poets and writers are only some of the appointments which characterise society life in Monterosa Ski area, then there are concerts, shows, events, and entertaining initiatives of various kinds for an all-ages public. At any time in the day, as well as in the night, there is an appointment that is not to miss.

Fo people who look for amusement, night opportunities are not missing at all. The casino is few miles far, so an alternative night event is easy to be provided. However, the very alternative people are those who, as the night goes on, with their snowshoes on, face the slopes covered with snow to enjoy an exceptional view, under the moon light. The Tourist offices are the reference point of the activites and initiatives within Monterosa Ski. Puppet shows and games on the snow for the kids and night-time spent at the casino of Saint Vincent for gambling fans are just examples of the countless amusements proposed by the area. At night, groups of compères entertain the tourists at hotels and nightclubs with evening performances, music and dances.
Especially in the night, the most sophisticated dishes can be tasted, for very demnding palates too, in the typical restaurants in the three valleys: miaccias, fragrant wheat cialdas, mocetta, dainty local sliced cold meat, uberlekke, a characteristic Walser dish based on meat and vegetables, carbonade, with browned beef, then rice and bread soups. Mountain water, nice wine and after-dinner liqueurs based on Alpine herbs complete the menu.
At the foot of Europe’s second highest mountain, the Monterosa Ski area has varied and well-connected skiing, fully enjoyable from almost any of the villages. As the ski area is fairly challenging, it is probably best suited to intermediate and experienced skiers, but it has also enough absolute beginner’s terrain available, in order not to exclude anybody from the party .
Monterosa Ski has got all the good qualities for success: 33 lift facilities, a 63.000 person capacity per hour, 180 km. of marked-out and well-kept slopes, 173 km. slopes served by a programmed snow making system, a wide variety of technical difficulty levels and a considerable number of bars and restaurants scattered along the slopes.
If you ski in the Monterosa ski carousel, you can discover a different ski area every day passing from valley to valley either on your skis or by using the ski shuttle service. For more advanced skiers, enthralling “off-piste” descents connect Gressoney and Alagna and are greatly freed from the hardships that this kind of skiing normally entails. It is advisable, anyway, to engage in these descents with the due caution and with a guide’s help. Ski instructors and guides will be happy to show you many other itineraries.

How to reach:

(98 km. from Turin, 164 km. from Milan) By car : you follow motorway A5 Turin-Aosta as far as the toll gate of Pont-Saint-Martin, from where you continue on Gressoney-Valley’s regional road 44. By train : The main stations are located in Turin and in Milan. From these cities you can catch the trains to Aosta via Chivasso. When you arrive at Pont-Saint-Martin’s station you get off the train and you continue by bus. By air : airports: Turin and Milan.
